Bodenheimer (Animal Life in Palestine, 1935) has this to say:
The adults of Empusa fasciata live from March to July. This species passes the winter in the last larval stage as do E. hedenbergi and Blepharopsis nuda. Isolated adults appear even in winter, especially in the warmer districts (Jericho, El Arish), where the development is perhaps somewhat accelerated. The large green species with white stripes is easily recognised. Its similarly colored larvae are conspicuous because of the erect position of their toothed abdomen.
